Mary Margaret Hamilton, 84, of Speedway, IN passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2018. Mary was born in Lanesville, IN on February 2, 1933 to Joseph J. and Ida Louise (Weisenberger) Bauer. She was, in one word, a success at her chosen vocation of loving wife and devoted mother. Unlike most professions, she never retired until called away by God. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband of 65 years, Richard B. Hamilton; sons, Mark Hamilton of Monrovia, IN,  Mike Hamilton of Phoenix, AZ and Matt Hamilton of Speedway, IN; daughters Sherry Toms of Golden, CO, Susan Leonard of Franklin, IN and Shelly Ochs of Urbana, OH; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th Street Indianapolis, from 4:00 PM until 7:30 PM with a Rosary at 7:30 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at St. Christopher Catholic Church 5301 W. 16th Street Indianapolis. A private interment will follow in Kraft Grace Memorial Park in New Albany, IN. In lieu of flowers contributions to I.U. Health Hospice 950 N Meridian St #700, Indianapolis, IN 46204 or to St. Jude Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

A friend to Mike, Matt & Leonard , so sorry for your loss. I remember meeting Mary for the first time in Minnesota along with her husband at the cabin. Phil & I vacationed there along with another couple. Mary was so kind to take us girls shopping & i’ll Never forget the restaurant “ the sun porch “ where we had a Razzle Dazzle that come with a special cookie. I remember buying a box so everyone could have one after dinner. Mary told me it would be the best I ever had & was she ever so right. The most vivid memory was she & I sitting out on the dock leading out to the lake. I sat down & Mary sat down with me while the guys were fishing. Mike come back in & said he had never seen his Mom sit down on the dock. My memories of writing you & always ending the letter with Razzle Dazzle. R I Love Mary You will be remembered Diane

My love & heartfelt sympathies to the whole family as I see the news of Aunt Mary's passing! Her winning smile, strength of character, pillar of faith & supportive kindness will never be forgotten. She welcomed me into the family & loved me as family as soon as Denny & I began visiting to attend the Indy 500 during our college years! May God grant her eternal peace & joy!
