Eugene Parrish

Gene Parrish, 85, Greencastle, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Asbury Towers. He was born in Putnam County on July 9, 1932 to Margaret Parrish. He is survived by his wife Betty, sons Rick (Sheryle) and Tim, daughter Kathy Harris (Rick), granddaughter Kristen Harris Nelson (Kevin) and sisters Debbie Phillips and Becky Reeves. Gene proudly served his country in Korea from 1952-1954 and was employed with Lone Star Industries for 36 years. Gene enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening, bushhogging with his tractor and a love for his dogs and animals. A memorial/celebration of life service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28 with service at 11 at New Life Baptist Church, 51 Ridgeway St., Greencastle with Pastor Dr. Scott Kallem presiding. Graveside services will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery with military rites salute. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
