Barry (Barrett) E. Allen, 36, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on November 30, 2018. He was born in Indianapolis on October 26, 1982 to Ronnie and Janna Allen.

Barry attended Chapel Glen Elementary, Ben David Junior High and graduated from Ben Davis High School in 2001. He completed the Electrical Technology program at Lincoln Tech.

Barry was recently employed by Applebee's Restaurant and was a manager at the Speedway Location.  

Barry enjoyed gaming and movies and was an avid Star Wars fan. He loved all animals, especially the family dog, Max. He was always willing to spend time with his niece.

He is survived by his parents, Ron and Jana Allen; brother, Seth Allen; sister Meredith Allen and Meredith's partner, Cody Chadd and their child, Violet Chadd.

We all miss Barry's beautiful smile, his warm hugs, his sarcastic wit, sense of humor and enthusiasm for all things Star Wars.

I can’t believe you are gone! I loved working with you and the amazing advice you always gave me! You will be dearly missed and I still to this day hear you say “oh okay” in your funny voice when ever I would tell you I’m leaving can’t stop me!! Even though you knew I’d stay till you were finished with everything! Love you Barry!!

Barry came into my life when I started working at Applebee's. He was very gruff and sarcastic and I struggled with figuring him out at first. But after a few weeks of working with him, I realized that he was a caring boss with a sense of humor and an obsession with anything Star Wars. He explained his tattoos to me many times which I found fascinating. He was a TRUE FRIEND to those who were fortunate to be his true friend. Everyone LOVED him including me. I will miss you, Barry!!! Barry's lite will shine through us . . . the many employees at Applebee's that had the pleasure of working with him. I worked with him at the Avon Applebee's for four years. I was so impressed with him as I knew he was pressing forward to a better life and with the desire to leave the "old Barry" behind so he could find green pastures, more peace in his life, and TRULY carefree and sunny days.
