Obituary

Mario Walkine was born to the late Sylvia Rolle and Ivan Walkine on July 14, 1973 in Nassau, Bahamas. Mario's mother relocated to Jamaica with her two small children Andre and Mario while he was still a toddler and there he begun his early education. After a few years of island living Mario's family relocated to New York where he completed his tertiary education and the beginning of his adult life.

Anyone who knew Mario, knew that his children were his world! There was nothing he would not do for his children. He encouraged them to follow their dreams to become whatever they wanted in life, he attended many sporting events, he was their biggest fan.

Mario touched the hearts of everyone he came in contact with, his infectious smile, loving and kind personality and encouraging words will always remain in our hearts. Mario was a vibrant soul with a lot of personality.

Mario leaves to cherish his memories four children: Mario A. Walkine Jr. and Laniah A. Walkine (Lori Tucker), and Braylon N. Walkine (Brianna Walkine), Ariana Cline (Nicole Cline); three step children: Jessica Powells, Tommy Powells, and Jernaye Figueroa; five brothers: Andre, Marlon, Anthony, Troy Walkine and Trevor Williams; eight sisters: Shawnette Robinson (New York), Sherry Kreye (Florida), Dianna Walkine (Illinois), Stephanie Lightbourne, Helen, Ivadell and Bonnie Walkine, Margo McPhee (Bahamas); numerous nieces and nephews: Danika Smith, Shante Brown, Kendra Wilkinson, Jermaine Woodfork, Dwayne James, Gabriel James, Haliegh Myszka and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mario is my brother and friend. It is a fact and a truth that I love him. I have no shame in that statement. Mario was always my idea of a good man, so much as is possible for mankind. This man really cared so much about countless people who seemed to not know how hurt he often was and much worst, seemed to be unaware or did not care for their role in his personal pain. He shared a lot of those truths with me, and who ever should come across this statement, I want them all to know, Mario loved people, even the ones that may have caused him some pain. Let that be a type testament to the type of heart that the world has known and now lost. I love him and I'm going to miss him as my brother. NOBODY could ever tell me that he was not my real brother. He was never afraid to tell me he loved me. With Christ Jesus as my secret judge, be advised, that I love him too, and the God of all heaven and earth knows that this is true. My hope is that he was aware of how extreme and true this statement is and will ALWAYS be to me. I spend my life right now trying to learn the type of love that will glorify God in Christ Jesus. I honestly pray that I learned enough about that love to offer a never dying piece of it to him. Mario Walkine is my Brother, and, Jesus is my Lord. Because of what Jesus teaches me about love, I hope that Mario was aware of the kind of strength that the love that I've learned from Jesus is, was, and will always be from me, concerning him. I love my brother and there's nothing anybody could ever do about that. I heard him honor Jesus! I heard that because we were doing a lot of heavy talking in recent days. My hope is for forgiveness to all who hurt him, my hope is for condolences to all who love him, my hope is for restoration and some peace to those who willingly or unknowingly did both... I will always love my brother Mario. On that glad reunion day, God will answer all of our questions but for now I vow to do my best to fill the void in the lives of your children. You’re at rest now sleep on until we meet again.

Siblings are very special, I've never lost any before. However, each of us needs to love each other no matter what. May the love of God continue to bless you and your family.

Dear LITTLE BROTHER,Not a day goes by that I don't think about you and miss you with all my heart, but I forgive you. I have finally found myself in a place where I’m emotionally and mentally confuse .I still miss you, but I have accepted things that I cannot change and have found a place in my heart where I cannot live without thinking about you .I am my brothers keeper u all I got but you know what I’m thankful that I have family and friends around me to keep me strong.I know that’s what you’d want and expect from me and I am ready to do big things that would make you proud of me. Every day I think about you and wonder what you're up to in Heaven. I always will, and that will never change. Every beautiful sunset and every red cardinal make me think of you. Thank you for the little signs and for continuing to bless me with your presence. Even though you're not physically here, you continue to make me smile. I hope you found the dirt road in Heaven that you were dreaming of. I know I'll be with you again one day, but until then, please continue to watch over me and lead me down the right path. The time just drags on and on reminding me everyday that you’re not here. So many things remind me of you, most just make me take pause and smile, but some things still knock the wind right out of me. The last I saw you, was wed I hugged you and told you I love you and told you that I’m going to get a tattooed on my shoulder that says that I am my brothers keeper u all I got and also told you that I’m going to get one with mom‘s picture on me you said I will too . I still hear your encouraging words in my head every time something great is happening and I still hear your protective little brother voice every time I do something stupid or let someone treat me poorly. You were always the person I could tell anything and everything to and never once did you judge me. I don’t think I can ever thank you enough for all you’ve done for me. I’ll never forget the time you told me “just remember, you will always be the little brother who made me a big brother to look up to Those words will stay with me forever. There is nothing in the world that compares to a brother’s love. Me and u from day one I miss you & I love you MARIO A.WALKINE RIP,BiG BRO ANDRE R.WALKINE BLESSED LOVE Tell mom and dad and the rest of the family that’s hanging out with you up there I love them GOD BLESS
