Obituary

Jason Sullivan Nortell, 55, of Indianapolis passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019. He was born in Oak Park, IL on July 6, 1964 to the late Judd L. and Patricia Elizabeth Nortell.

Jason was in service to the Federal Government for 35 years. He served in the US Marines and the US Army. He worked as a mail handler for USPS. Jason never passed up on an opportunity to help a fallen soldier or veteran, so willing to give to others in their time of need. He was always passionate about his service to his country, God and his family.

He was kind, caring, loving and very funny. He was a great husband, father, brother and best friend. Jason was the kind of guy that listened to what you had to say and gave great advice in return. He touched so many lives. Jason gave so much of himself and would hardly ask for anything in return. His love knew no bounds. He was a father who loved his children and a man that loved his wife with all of his heart.

Jason is survived by his wife of 20 years, Justine Nortell; son, Jason Sheldon Nortell; daughter, Krystal Nicole Nortell; and brothers, Judd L. Nortell and John T. Nortell. He was admired by many and will be missed dearly.

I am Rey Hoffman, I worked with Jason for the USPS at the Phoenix AMF (Airport Mail Facility) in Arizona. Jason & his daughter Krystal walked next to me in the walk to honor MLK. I was the only person invited to his wedding in the Little Chapel where he married his beautiful Justine. Jason loved to play Hockey. I would go and show support and cheer on Jason and his team. Some players on the other teams commented that they wish they had as much cheering and support as Jason and his team. Some couldn't even get their wife to come watch them play. I showed up at the hospital when son Jason was delivered. Jason treated me like family. He was a hard working coworker and close friend. To the family and friends of Jason, I offer my condolences, you have my deepest sympathy. I miss you dear friend. RIP Jason.
