Obituary

Danny L. Troutman, 50, died Wednesday, August 14, 2019, peacefully at his home surrounded by family. 

He leaves his wife of 29 years, Teresa Troutman; his son, Matthew Worland, daughter-in-law Debrah Worland, and their two sons, Elijah and Moses Worland; his daughter, Rachel Troutman; his son, Blake Troutman; his mother, Barbara Troutman; his brothers, Jerry Troutman II and Scott Troutman, and his sister, Kelly Neese. Danny is predeceased by his father, Jerry Troutman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws as well as two cats. 

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Danny graduated from Northwest High School. He retired from Earth Exploration as a laboratory supervisor. He enjoyed playing golf, watching the Indianapolis Colts and IU basketball, learning about science and history, grilling, celebrating Halloween, and spending time with his family. He was known by all as a generous, hardworking person with a great sense of humor.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 19, 2019, at Stevens Mortuary. His family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Brain Tumor Association

You hear about people having a light around them and Danny was a prime example. He was so nice and humble. Who ever he was around, he made them feel like family. He was an inspirational father to his kids and I hope I can be even a percentage of what he was as a man. He is dearly missed, but his legacy will always carry on.

I met Dan when he was a young teenager. I was very impressed. He grew into a honorable man who was joyful and loved his wife, Teresa, and his family with everything he had. We were blessed to have known him. He will be greatly missed. Until we meet again...

I met Danny in 1991. We were co-workers for over 20 years. We became friends very quickly, and not only worked side-by-side for countless hours, but shared time together away from work. He was a great friend and we shared many conversations about family, friends and life. He was witty, intelligent, dedicated, competitive, loving and hard working. From my prospective, he was a great man. Therefore, I would like to share my top ten memories of Danny. 1. Playing a game of 1 v 1 basketball after work (when we were younger). 2. After working all day on an out-of-town project, spending several hours at a fast-pitch batting cage. 3. Sitting in the lab working and talking about our wives, kids and families. 4. Going to lunch together at Penn Station. 5. The weekend we went to Tennessee and played five rounds of golf. 6. His smile. 7. His laugh. 8. Riding in a golf cart to the next tee box after making one of the best shots of our lives. 9. His old nickname "Mr. Salty". 10. His friendship!
