Obituary
Mina Jean Shelton, 79, of Lafayette, IN, passed away on December 24th at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Celebration of life will be held at Brady Lane Church, 2701 Brady Lane, on January 11th from 2-4. Mina was born in Mt. Carmel, IL to Richard and Virginia Reinhart on August 17, 1940. She worked at Arni's as a hostess for 30+ years before she retired. She enjoyed baking and won several cooking competitions while working at Arni's. She also enjoyed spoiling her four grandkids and her nine great-grandkids. If she wasn't doing the above she was working in her yard gardening as well as taking care of her flowers. Mina is survived by her husband, Woodie B Shelton of Lafayette. Also surviving is her sister Jimmie Logsdon, children Kerri (Ted) Summey, and Jeff (Ruth) Shelton. Her surviving grandkids are Jennifer Decker, Ashley (Jake) Heriges, Anthony Shelton, and Jacob Summey. Also surviving are her shining lights, her nine great-grandchildren. Memorial Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 34105.

Mina Jean was always the”Cool Aunt”...If she got your name at Christmas you knew that it would be a really good gift.
One year Aunt Jean got me a Japanese Black Lacquered jewelry box with a Japanese girl that would dance to music. Then so I would have something in my jewelry box she put a single White Pearl necklace in it.
Aunt Jean was always a “ let’s get it done person” she was always energetic and when the job was finished it was perfect.
I was given a gift... before she had become ill I told her how I felt.
You never know how swiftly someone special can be taken...So take time if that person has been a blessing through your life ....tell them.
I love you Aunt Jean.
