Obituary
He attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church and grade school and George Washington high school. He grew up in Haughville and later moved to Cloverdale, IN. Frank was a proud US Marine and Vietnam veteran. Frank was a member of the Slovenian National Home, SNPJ, KSKJ and Yaggers Conservation Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors and animals. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank Sr and Sylvia Stanfield; and sister Carol June Stanfield. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother Randolph (Loretta Morrison) Stanfield; special friends Sharon and Karen; godson, Billy Stanfield and a host of many cousins, friends, neighbors...and his dog Bert. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 6, 2020 at Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th Street Indianapolis, IN 46224 from 4:00 PM until 7:30 PM with a Rosary at 7:30 PM. A funeral service will also be held in the mortuary at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A celebration of his life will follow the services at the Slovenian National Home 2717 w 10th St. Indianapolis, IN.

I was his squadleader and served with Frankie in Vietnam with Delta Co., 1st Battallion, 26th Marines. He never shirked from the most hazardous of situations and could always be relied upon during the worst of things. Steadfast and courageous when those qualities counted most. After many years apart, I last saw Frankie at a small Delta Company reunion in 2007 in Indianapolis. He was still the guy I knew in Nam and we stayed in touch by phone over subsequent years. I just earned of his passing and it saddens me greatly. He was a damn proud Marine and I'm proud to call him my friend. Rest in peace, Brother . Semper Fi!
