She was born on March 14, 1955 in Kavadar, Yugoslavia. During her childhood she and her siblings moved to Izmir, Turkey with her mother Hatice Tikvesli and father Kemal. She was the second oldest of 7 children brothers Suleyman, Selahattin, Sadettin, Deniz, and sisters Derya and Hasine. She was preceded in death by her sister Hasine, her father Kemal, her sister Derya, her mother Hatice and her son Jeff Hopson. She is survived by her brothers, her daughter Jana Hopson, her grandson Jaylen Hopson and granddaughter Halle Hopson and many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Fatma met her ex-husband Jeffrey Hopson in Izmir, Turkey where they married in 1982 and then moved to the United States of America. They had their son Jeff Hopson in 1983 and daughter Jana Hopson in 1985. Fatma worked at Target warehouse for 20 years. She loved to garden, to take care of her pets and spend time with her family and friends. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Her life was a living example of how she loved people. Fatma was kind, compassionate, forgiving and loving. She loved to laugh and celebrate life. She was courageous, strong and outspoken. She always made sure everyone around her was taken care of and did not go without. She was a mother to everyone. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM at Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th Street Indianapolis, IN 46224. You may send flowers and condolences to Stevens Mortuary.
