Sandra Clark

Sandra Kay (Jones) Clark was born to Bob and Edna Jones, on February 5, 1953. She has a brother, Roger, born a few years before her and a sister, Carla, born many years later. She graduated from Northwest High School. Sandy started exchanging letters, with Dave Clark, while he was in Vietnam. Upon his returning home, he and Sandy started dating and were married, on July 27, 1974. They bought a house in Eagledale and started their 45 years together. On March 7, 1978, they had a bouncing baby boy, Robert Davidson (Bobby or Rob). The next several years were full of little league baseball and watching football!... STEELERS AND DOLPHINS – All the way! Sandy and Dave also became involved and very active in the Lynhurst Masonic Lodge #723. Sandy was an adult leader with Job's Daughters, while her sister moved up to become Honored Queen. Dave moved through the line in Blue Lodge and became Worshipful Master. Also, Sandy and Dave were Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star Chapter. Sandy went on to be Worthy Matron several more times. She truly enjoyed her time spent with her Eastern Star Sisters and friends. Bobby and his wife, Donna, gave Dave and Sandy a beautiful Grandson, on October 7, 2003, Michael Davidson Clark. He brought a great amount of joy to Papaw (Dave) and Mimi (Sandy). Around the time that Michael was born, she quit her 2nd job at Kohl's. When asked what she would do with her extra time, she said “I'm ready to be a Grandma”. Donna brought 2 children from a previous marriage (Jimmy and Joey) so then Dave and Sandy had more children to love. And later on, she became the Great-Grandma to a little girl (Brielle) and a little boy (Bean). For most of Sandy's adult life, she worked as a secretary. However, she also attended The Chef's Academy and obtained her Associates Degree in Culinary Arts. She did love to be in the kitchen and spent many many hours preparing meals at the Lodge. For the last several years, you would find her in the produce section at the Plainfield Walmart. She would be 67-year-old lady working circles around the others. About 18 years ago, Sandy beat cancer. Anyone that knows her, knows she is a fighter! However, it recurred recently AND she was also diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She wasn't able to beat this one and there was barely even time for a battle. We know that pancreatic cancer is rough, because it is the same cancer that took her sweet Mother, in 2004. But, I'm sure Sandy has already found someone in Heaven to debate with about football! And, since she wanted “sent off” in her Steeler's jersey, everyone will know whose team she is on! Sandy will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 45 years, William Davidson Clark; son, Robert (Donna) Davidson Clark; grandsons, Michael Davidson Clark, James Robert George and Joseph Kenneth George; great grandson, James Ronnie George; great granddaughter, Brielle Marie George; brother, Roger Jones; and sister, Carla Murrell.
