Janet Tretter

Janet Warren Tretter, 77, of Indianapolis passed away on August 5, 2020. She was born in Indianapolis to the late Charles Warren and Doloras (Sprowl) Warren on March 27, 1943. Janet graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1961. She was employed as a secretary at Indiana Bell Telephone. She was also an inventory specialist for Napier Jewelry Company. Janet ended her work career as a secretary at Tess Secretarial Services, retiring in 1989. She volunteered at PTA and tutored through Decatur Township Schools. Janet was very active in the Ben Davis Wayne Township Alumni Committee for many years. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music, genealogy and spending time with her friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 38 years, Donald A. Tretter formerly of Petersburg, IN, then Indianapolis. She is survived by her children, Janeen Dodds (Greg) and Liz VerKamp (Charles Winslow); grandchildren, Anya Frances VerKamp and Wendy Elizabeth Dodds; step grandchildren, Amanda Margroff (Landon Pickens) and Christian Dodds (Kate Esau); her sisters, Jane Ann Williams and Patricia Warren; and her brother, Edward D. Warren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws, and friends; and her very beloved pet cat, Inga.
