Christopher Niemeyer, 59, of Indianapolis passed away in Brown County on September 6, 2020. Christopher was born in Chicago Heights on June 29, 1961 to Richard and Sherrell (McWilliams) Niemeyer. Christopher worked for FEDEX as a Facility Maintenance Manager. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, off-roading with his Jeep, camping and boating. He really loved being outdoors and the enjoyment of Brown County. Christopher enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Christopher is preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Sherrell McWilliams Niemeyer; and brother Greg Niemeyer. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his father Richard Niemeyer; brothers Jeff Niemeyer of Indianapolis; Steve (Beth) Niemeyer of Queen Creek, AZ; and Mike (Sue) Niemeyer of Knoxville, TN; several nieces and nephews; and his special friend, DOG.

Chris was perhaps the kindest soul Jeremiah and I have known. Always with a big smile he greeted everyone and with kind words. If ever there was a person who should still be here it is Chris. We have never met his father and brothers, however we would like to offer our most sincere condolences, love and kindness through this time. Jeremiah was able to visit Chris very recently and they spent a few hours visiting and catching up. We are so grateful for that opportunity. Sadness in our hearts and love forever for you Chris!! Chris' abundant love for all things outdoors radiated from his very being and you couldn't help but love it with him. I will always remember waking up before dawn to head out to the deer stand to watch the woods come alive; sitting by the fire during chilly autumn nights talking about what we saw during the day.
The first time I took my own Jeep for trail riding, Chris rode with me out to Badlands, making sure I understood what recovery equipment was needed, how to handle the Jeep on the trails, and watched out for me so I wouldn't break the Jeep! We could often be found at his home, just hanging out in the garage, talking about Jeeps and trails, camping and fishing, hunting, and life.
He was more than one of a kind and can never be replaced. I will think about him often, sending him love and light whenever I see a deer, or sunset, or clean-looking XJ, knowing he'll be looking down and smiling as well.
Until we meet again, my friend, I'll be missing you.

Such sad news to hear, I have spent so many weekends camping and hunting with you Chris, we have had so many great memories from it too. I was blessed to help you the past years getting your property in Brown County to a wonderful retreat, hunting will never be the same without my brother. You will always be in my heart and mind.

Chris was the kindest and most generous person we know. I never had worry about an appliance not working or car problems because I could always count on Chris to rescue me. He was like a big brother to me and a father to my kids. We love Chris so much and will treasure our memories of him forever.
