Olena Castello

Olena Castello, 49, of Zionsville, IN passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family, on October 7, 2020. Olena was born in Siberia, Russia on March 31, 1971 to Phillip Cherdansava and Anna Kolmakova. She is preceded in death by her father and son, Armen Nazaryan. Olena received her PhD in Plant Biology from the University of Connecticut and was a Field Scientist at ICL and former Discovery Group Scientist at DOW. Olena was passionate about holistic health and medicine, loved the beach, doing yoga, spending time outside, and loved being with her beloved children. She is survived by her daughter, Stephany Zhivotovsky; son, Phillip Castello; mother, Anna Kolmakova, and ex-husband, Luigi Castello. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church 7855 Marsh Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46278 with a viewing and gathering 10 Am until time of service. Interment to follow in Floral Park Cemetery, followed by a gathering outside of the church for a meal and a moment for anyone to speak about Olena and her life. Masks are required, and all precautions will be taken to social distance as much as possible. Food will be individually wrapped.
