Obituary

Eileen JoAnne Joann Watson (Yaya) of Indianapolis, Indiana born January 15, 1981 was called to the Great Campfire in the Sky on Sunday morning, October 25, 2020. Her death was sudden and unexpected. She was a 1995 graduate of Saint Michael Grade School, and a 1999 graduate of Cathedral High School, where she was very active in the theater program and HIV/AIDs instruction through the American Red Cross. She attended Holy Cross College and Marian University. She was currently unemployed due to an accident and chronic illness. EJ was previously employed by RCI, The Boy Scouts of America, Saint Michael-Saint Gabriel School, and Cathedral High School. She was a BSA Crossroads of America Council Firecrafter, avid camper, Mrs. Claus portrayer, Barbie Doll collector, music lover, and Mountain Dew's number one customer. She is survived by her parents, Jack and Susie Watson; her older sister, Tina (Watson) Scheu (John Paul); older brother John Watson (Anji Wall); older sister, Sarah Jean Watson; Nephews Preston and Hunter Scheu and Finnegan Watson; Niece Mutong Zhou; and numerous other relatives and loved ones. She was preceded in death by grandparents John and Jo Watson, Bob and June Beck; Godmother, Anne Keough; and niece, Christine Marie Scheu. Visitation is at Stevens Mortuary from 4-7:30 PM on Friday, October 30, 2020. In aligning with Eileen's clothing preferences, you are invited to wear jeans to the visitation. Please be aware strict precautions will be followed from the CDC guidelines. A rosary in memory of Eileen will be said at 7:30 PM. The celebration of her life will continue with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church at 10:30 AM on Halloween (very fitting for Eileen). Internment will follow at Calvary Cemetery directly after the Mass.. Due to COVID limitations, Saint Michael has limited capacity. For those who attend in person, facial coverings and social distancing are required. The Mass will stream through Facebook Live as a safe option for mourners to grieve. For those who would like to join us virtually visit www.saintmichaelindy.org, click on the Facebook icon, and the Mass will open full screen. The family expresses gratitude for your presence whether virtual or in person. We will celebrate Eileen's life together in the future with hugging, food, and fellowship. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Michael- Saint Gabriel School, Saint Lawrence School, or a donation for Cub Scout Camperships (The Cub Scout checks should be made to sister Sarah Watson).

Jack, Susie, John, Tina, & Sarah- I have fond memories of picnics at the park, Westwood Country Club, and Poticia making days. The one constant thing I remember is Eileen's smile and laughter. Praying for your comfort. Hugs!

Jack, Suzie and family... My heart just crumbled into pieces when I heard the news of your sweet Eileen! I will hold you all in my prayers and know I am always thinking of you. It feels like it wasn't that long ago, I saw you 2 in the hospital with matching jazzy scooters, when Eileen was about to have a procedure. Life is so short and she is gone too soon. I love you guys! Suzie and Jack, my heart goes out to you. Eileen's smile was definitely her gift for many. Holding you, siblings, and nephews in prayer as you learn to live without her physical presence. She will live on in so many other ways. Love and big hugs, Monica Public (visible to all)
