John Emry

John Ronald Emry, 84, of Carmel, IN passed away on December 15, 2020. He was born in Sheridan, IN to Lowell and Eva (Smith) Emry on November 27, 1936. John was a graduate of Sheridan High School. Then he started his career sacking potatoes at the local grocery then sold ice cream from his bicycle until he enlisted in the United States Army where he served proudly and bravely. After the military he was manager for Walt's Grocery store. From there he was owner of Quik Chek Grocery in Indianapolis and Zionsville until retirement. After retirement, he became a licensed appraiser. In February of 1960 he was married to Eula M. Mahan in Indianapolis, IN. He was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church and a lifetime member of Chapel Hill Lions Club, Odd Fellows and the Men's group at Chapel Rock. He is preceded in Death by his parents; and brother, Keith Emry. He is survived by his wife Eula (Mahan) Emry; sons Donald Emry of Plainfield and Eric Emry of Carmel; daughter Ronda (James) Roberts of Sandborn, IN; brother Ivan Emry; sister Lois Reeves; grandchildren Darrian Baker, Karley (Clint) Cross, Chet (Angel) Roberts, Dontay Roberts and Roslyn Roberts ; four great grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.
