Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Victor Cosgarea, on May 6th, 2026. Born on March 31st, 1952, in Șercaia, Romania, Victor was a man of humble beginnings who grew into a pillar of strength and reliability for his family. As his family recounting his life, they can testify to his enduring generosity and unwavering faith in God.

Victor was a dedicated electrician who found fulfillment in his work at a local chemical manufacturing company. He was a diligent worker who retired with a reputation for excellence. But work was only part of Victor's life. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like fishing, playing Remi, and most importantly, spending time with his grandsons who meant the world to him. He was a man of faith, who believed in the teachings of the Holy Bible. In line with his faith Psalm 50 was his favorite. This verse exemplifies Victor's life, a life lived in service of others, a life that shone brightly with good deeds.

Victor is survived by his loving wife, Maria Cosgarea, and his two daughters, Monica Griffin and Laura Cosgarea. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cornel and Silvia Cosgarea. His life was a testament to his unwavering faith and dedication to his family. His legacy will live on in his children and grandchildren, and in the many lives he touched with his generosity and humility.

Please, honor Victor's memory by sharing your stories, memories, and photos on his memorial page. This will not only provide comfort to the family but also ensure that his legacy continues to inspire future generations.

I lived next door to Victor and Maria for many years. so sorry that Victor has passed. He was a very proud man and I missed talking with him after I moved a couple of years ago, I missed the aroma of his grill in the back yard and the food Maria would bring for my wife and I. We shared a few special moments with the Cosgarea family and was prowd to be neighbors and friends. My heart is broken for Victor's family, he was a great man and loved his family so much. I am a better person for having the blessing of knowing him. Paul LaFollette

Today, nenea Victorel is surely speaking with the angels. I will always cherish the warm and cozy memories of him: calm, generous, thoughtful, giving, ready to help without hesitation. There was a kindness and quiet strength about him that made people feel safe and cared for. My heart is heavy thinking of this loss for my lifelong friend Monica, her caring sister Laura and for tanti Oara who gave me so many treats and gifts throughout the years. My heartfelt condolences also go to Mason and Ben, grandpa Victor’s favourite future pilots. And whenever you fly high in the sky, may you feel a little closer to your grandpa, who will be watching over you with pride and love. My dear friends, now you have an angel you know that will continue to love and protect you from above. Sending you all my love, strength, courage and serenity as you grieve this immense loss. Diana
