Gladys Snyder

Gladys Suzanne Snyder, age 82 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026. She had a 12 year struggle with COPD, She was born November 5, 1943 in Putnam County, Indiana to Eugene “Buck” and Betty (Chadd) Butler.

She was named after her grandmother Gladys, but always went by her middle name Suzanne or Sue. Sue was born into a farming life, and loved the outdoors and growing flowers and vegetables. She graduated from Fillmore High School in 1961, Then she attended Indiana Business College and became a skilled executive secretary. When her children started school, she became a cook at Ben Davis High School so she could have the same hours as her children, She was over the baking department at Ben Davis for twenty years before retiring in 2001.

Suzanne married James Snyder of Indianapolis September 27, 1963, They have two children, Teresa Snyder-Gransberry and Jason Snyder, She has two grandchildren, Katlyn Love and Jordan Granberry, Also two great- grandchildren, Laci Love and Ryker Arnold. Other family members included Jack and Carol Snyder of Brownsburg, and cousin Marjorie and Ronald Skelton of Greencastle. She has numerous other cousins and family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Bonnie Butler Emery.
