Mr. Ricky A. Carter, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the age of 56. Rick was born to parents of Clayton (deceased) and Eva Carter on July 18, 1959 in Baxley, GA. He grew up as the middle child and attended Stockbridge High School. After high school until death, Rick worked many different construction jobs. Rick and Margaret met in 1977 and have lived together since. He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Carter. Rick is survived by his loving companion, Margaret; mother, Eva Carter; sister, Nancy Carter; brother, Charles Carter; daughter, Nichole (Carter) Goddard; son, Tyler Carter; step sons, John Suiter and Joey Suiter and grandchildren, Quentin Goddard, Lily Goddard, Jacob Goddard. Rick was happiest when he was around his family. Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, outdoors, and a nice cold beer. We know you are going to continue to protect us, may you rest in peace. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21 at 4:30 pm with visitation following from 5 pm – 7 pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indianapolis.
